California Bound

Leaving Wednesday for Tujunga, Ca. and the Patchwork Peguin.   I will be teaching Bras on Friday(5/18) and Saturday (5/19) then on Sunday we will be doing a T-shirt Class.   There are a couple of spaces still available.  The contact information is under "Upcoming Workshops".  It is going to be a great weekend.

ASG Charity Sewing

About 10 ASG ladies arrived at the store this morning for their monthly charity sewing.   By NOON they had completed 10 crib sheets and several small blankets.
You ladies "ROCK".  

Shrug's for Girls

Hi Girls,
I have found the cutest, most simple way to make a shrug.  And you know shrugs are very stylish right now.  I have scheduled an after school class on Friday, May 11 from 5:00 to 6:00 pm.  Cost of the class is $5.00.  Please bring a plain (any color, any length sleeve) t-shirt, matching thread and a spool of ribbon at least 1 inch wide.  Do not get ribbon with wired edges.  Call to reserve your spot.

Sharing

Probably the best part of my job, is that I get to see all of the wonderful garments made from our fabrics.  Thank you Judy for sharing.   Made from ITY jersey knit.  The pattern is from a magazine that I ordered from the Netherlands.  One of our local sewing guild members shared the site.   http://www.myimagemagazine.com/   They have some wonderful trendy styles that are easy to make.   Don't get me wrong, the instruction are somewhat vague, but the easy styles make the construction fairly easy.  I made a couple of tunic tops, but alas no pictures yet.

NEW CLASS SCHEDULES & SUMMER HOURS

Janet and I have posted our summer class schedules.   Lots for the adults and kids.   During the month of July I will be available by appointment for private classes and sewing assistance.    

BEGINNING JUNE 4TH  WE WILL BE CLOSED ON MONDAYS FOR THE SUMMER.
This will allow me extra time with my husband and time to work on new projects.  I hope this does not cause an inconvenience to all of my dear customers.  

I have scheduled three Sewing 101 classes and have 2 to 3 openings in each.  If you have been wanting to take this "Basic Sewing" class that is full of information about sewing techniques and your sewing machine and its feet, this is your opportunity.  The cost of class is $60 and this includes all sample fabrics and book to keep track of all your samples and notes.  Call the store or Janet at 682-8536 with questions or to schedule one of these classes.

Tues, Wed: May 1,2   9:00 am to 1:30 pm  Openings for 2 (two sessions)
Sat.:  May 5    9:00 am to 5:30 pm    Openings for 3  (one session)

Ladies:  I want to say a BIG THANK YOU for making today a great SUCCESS!!!   I am sorry that I was not able to be with everyone.   My son is returning from a 1 year deployment in Afghanistan, so I am at Ft Campbell.   My husband I are and eagerly awaiting his arrival.   I look forward to seeing all of you again after my return to the store.  

The past 28 years have been utterly amazing for me and all my "Needle Nook Fabrics Family"
I have had the great pleasure of watching many of your children and grandchildren and OH MY a few great-grandchilren enjoy playing/shopping in the store.   What a tremendous blessing !~!~!

28th ANNIVERSARY/SUPER BOWL SUNDAY SALE

This coming Sunday, February 5th is our annual Super Bowl Sale and the celebration of my 28th Anniversary at Needle Nook Fabrics.   If you did not receive a card in the mail, but sure to come by the store or give us a call to get your name on our "snail mail list".   Although we do not send out lots of cards during the year, the ones that we do send our well worth having.

Thought it would be fun to see the picture of Ruth(aka MOM) and I the day we walked into Needle Nook for the first time.   Look at that hair of mine and those wide legged pants...  LOL What a hoot!!!!   Would be fun to hear some of your stories about your shopping experiences.

How can I say "THANK YOU" enough to all of you that have supported us through the years.   I can truly say that we have wonderful customers that have also become friends/family....  For those of your that have not shopped with us for more than 20 years, our original location was 5 doors south of our current store.  We only had 650 sq. ft.   On January 2, 1992 we moved into our current location.   It has been an amazing and rewarding time for me.

ASG 2012 CONFERENCE

Wanted to let you all know that although we will not be teaching at 2012 ASG conference to be held in Houston Aug 16-19 Janet & I will be in our booth ready to assist with Bra issues and doing fittings.
